The Sandbox is not a proper level, it is more of a free to play area allowing you to build anything you like.
All commponents can be placed in here regarless of campaign progression, except:

Sandbox only components[edit | edit source]
Some componets only function correctly in Sandbox (and the Lab, and cannot be placed in normal campaign levels:
They will typically output 0 when used in levels.
ROM[edit | edit source]
ROM can be written to in Sandbox, unlike in normal levels.
Scoring[edit | edit source]
While this level is not scored, it does count as a level for the purposes of calculating the game completion percentage.
